Today we had a meeting with Lable and eventually we found ourselves talking about renting office space together. We were browsing some offices and found some rather nice ones and affordable for us, so we decided to go visit it and it was quite motivational seeing the building that could well be ours in the near future!

We still have a lot to check before we will go through with the acquisition, but I for one am very swooned by the building ^^.

Tomorrow me and Maurice will go bootcamp some site work so we can get our new hardware, in order to proceed our multi touch work. Busy, busy, busy, but so satisfied!

I am pretty much swamped in work at the moment, but in a good way I guess. New jobs keep popping up and they are getting bigger in scope and more exciting in concept!

Some of the sites that I am currently working on are:

  • Stenden (student lounge)
  • Osen (camping)
  • KIK (youth projects)
  • De galerie van Een (gallery)
  • De herberg van Een (bed and breakfast)
  • Bootsman sloepen (boats)
  • Silverfish sloepen (boats)
  • 1stNature portfolio (personal)
  • Zi-Games competitions (personal)

Most of them are due September, so I will need to get cracking ^^. It should be alright though since most of them are already designed and just need to be sliced, coded and added to a CMS.

I guess I will also need to finally put up the portfolio section of my own site sometime soon to show the work I have done recently and perhaps discuss future projects. September will be an exciting time!

So I tried to make ebi gyoza with the ingredients I had:

  • Gamba shrimp
  • Water chestnuts
  • Spring onion
  • Spinach
  • Soy sauce
  • Oyster sauce
  • Sesame oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sugar

A lot of cutting and mixing later I had the mixture finished and the folding of the wraps was about to happen. So...WHY do the chinese have square wraps..really.. It is so difficult to make pretty gyoza when the wraps are freaking square! ^^

I did some folding and created around 50 gyoza with the mixture I had, I think my gyoza were pretty small though so I guess it was like 30 full sized gyoza. Threw some of them in the pan and fried for a few minutes on both sides, added water and steamed them for a few more.

Let me tell you..they might not be the prettiest gyoza I have seen, but damn they tasted good!! After finishing around 40 of them my stomach couldn't really handle any more gyoza but they had to be finished >_<

Yesterday I went to meet up with Fannie and afterwards since it was still early I thought I might as well go to the asian store and buy some ingredients.

I ended up buying:

  • Miso paste
  • Konbu
  • Wakame
  • Dashi no moto
  • Sake
  • Gyoza wraps
  • Water chestnuts

So with all this stuff I thought I'd mix up a dish and I ended up making udon with konbu and chicken. It was really tasty and healthy (always a nice side effect of food ^^).

Then this morning I made miso soup which was extremely tasty and much better than the instant miso soup I have tried in the past!

I don't know yet what I will cook up tonight but it might be ramen with shrimp :P

So I've been doing a little "holiday-ing" and a lot has happened once again! The plan to go to Korea in february has hit some speed bumps as the NHL has been quite annoying with their support. CMD (my faculty) has been really helpful, especially Sylvia Peekstok has done a lot for me to try and find me a university in Seoul...but unfortunately the office of foreign relations has been less helpful and would rather send students from an educational/economic studies to Korea instead of me.

So this has kinda ruined my motivation slightly, but I have also been looking for alternatives. Since I know quite a few Japanese, I have also been looking for places to work in Tokyo to try and do my graduation assignment there.

I have been learning some Japanese characters (a i u e o, ka ki ku ke ko, sa shi su se so, ta chi tsu te to) and words to get a kick start in august when Japanese courses open again at my school. Hopefully I will be able to learn the language swiftly and know enough Japanese by february to make my daily life a lot easier.

Other things I have been working on is zi-games identity and website (a Japanese gaming platform), sewefontein website (South African camping), stenden lounge website (lounge for students in Leeuwarden), osen camping website (camping in Norway) and stuff for 1st Nature.

Companies I have been looking at so far are:
